As you hide, conform, or fight back as each of them, you will encounter dark humour, a spot of hope, and even some redemption along the way. At first I thought it was nothing, but now the game keeps crashing so I have to wait for now. Additionally, We Happy Few will pick up another update on Game Preview and Early Access today, dubbed the 'Life in Technicolour' update. They each have a unique storyline in which they interpret and react to the events around them in different ways. So when I updated the game of We Happy Few I did have good gameplay for a while, but then suddenly the game randomly crashes I know its not my computer cause I have checked. Play as three flawed characters who explore their own connections to the events surrounding the rebuilding of Wellington Wells. Every time you upload a file, a backup copy of it is created on a different hard drive. You will discover the history of this world, and how it came to be just so beguilingly happy. We deeply care about the security of your files. Everything appears to be happy in Wellington Wells, including the roads, the people, and its omnipresent television personality, Uncle Jack! However, it’s a big, idyllic world on the brink of collapse. Set in retrofuturistic 1960s England, you will find a city ravaged by war and rebuilt by delusionally happy people. You’ll have to fight or blend in with the drug-addled inhabitants, most of whom don’t take kindly to people who won’t abide by their not-so-normal rules.ĭiscover the retrofuturistic city’s dark history as you play through the intertwined narratives of three quietly rebellious citizens of Wellington Wells, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, as they face their pasts, prepare for the future, and engage in activities that aren’t exactly status quo in the artificially-enthused society. In this alternative 1960s England, conformity is key. Article taken from Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial in the city of Wellington Wells. This Beta version for Linux was due with the 1.9 update released yesterday, although going by SteamDB it's not clear if that's actually happened yet and they've not said anything on it being released just yet.Īfter waiting so long, this is a real shame but they've handled this in a vastly better way than most other developers when they've been unable to do what they promised.

They also said it will likely run slower than the Windows version, although on Linux it was said that Proton/Steam Play might be faster.

However, they will offer a full refund to Linux/Mac backers and give out an unofficial Beta version as you will get to keep your copy even with the refund.

The post on Kickstarter mentions that they "haven't reached a quality level that we are comfortable with" and they will not be selling or advertising a Linux or Mac version. Yesterday, they finally gave an update on what's been happening. Later in 2017 Compulsion Games announced work had begun on the ports, the whole game then had a delay and then Compulsion Games joined Microsoft in June of 2018 although they did confirmed then a Linux version was still happening. In 2017, it was announced that Compulsion Games teamed up with Gearbox Publishing to complete it. Originally funded on Kickstarter back in 2015 for $334,754 CA, Linux and Mac support was then announced for We Happy Few after the campaign had started. After a long road, the waiting on We Happy Few for both Linux and Mac is about to come to an end.
